Job Summary:

Our company is seeking a highly skilled PCB Layout Design Engineer with experience in designing and implementing high-quality printed circuit board layouts. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Solidworks and Altium Designer, have experience in drafting mechanical designs of PCBs, and possess the ability to communicate with PCB manufacturers. This is a full-time position that requires technical and interpersonal skills to succeed.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement high-quality printed circuit board layouts for standard and flexible PCBs, using Altium Designer and Solidworks software.
2. Ensure that the PCB designs meet all required electrical and mechanical specifications, while adhering to design guidelines and best practices.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and clarify project requirements, and identify and solve design issues as they arise.
4. Conduct design reviews and test and validate the PCB designs to ensure they meet quality and performance standards.
5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including design files, bill of materials, and production specifications.
6. Communicate effectively with PCB manufacturers to ensure successful manufacturing and production, with a profound understanding of different PCB production methods.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven experience of 3+ years in designing and implementing high-quality printed circuit board layouts, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
3. Proficiency in using Altium Designer and Solidworks software for PCB design and mechanical drafting.
4. Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical design principles, and familiarity with industry standards and best practices.
5. Prior experience with standard and flexible PCBs (FPC/FFC), and a strong understanding of their unique design considerations.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and to effectively communicate with PCB manufacturers.
7. Profound understanding of different PCB production methods and the ability to choose the appropriate method for each design project.
8. Experience with version control methods such as SVN, Git, or Mercurial.
9. Ability to actively participate in defining mechanical and electrical requirements.
10. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
11. A continuous learner who stays up-to-date with the latest industry trends, new technologies, and emerging design techniques.
